The audience thought a goal was coming when Iosif Gurlui got free with Julio Vera in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 12th minute of play forced F.C. Baia Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Zsigmond Pál to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Buzoianu in the 13th minute of play. Zsigmond Pál didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Daniel Zorita went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 17th match minute, F.C. Baia Mare -MM- was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Manuel Tărbac to maneuver through the defense. A hard and well directed shot from Daniel Zorita led 18 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. F.C. Baia Mare -MM-'s Zsigmond Pál became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 0-3. Zsigmond Pál took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luis Andino took the ball and in the 23 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zsigmond Pál. Zsigmond Pál dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. 0-5 became the score in the 26th minute when Agustín Saelices elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. After 32 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zsigmond Pál was left in no man's land by his defense there! George Buzoianu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 46 played minutes F.C. Baia Mare -MM- got a freekick which was hit by Anton Baicea. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Zsigmond Pál tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-6 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Zsigmond Pál was a little too slow when Felix Montenegro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 53rd minute. The score was now 0-7. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 56th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 58th minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zsigmond Pál saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Iosif Gurlui fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. With a little luck, F.C. Baia Mare -MM-'s Zsigmond Pál got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. 62 minutes into the match, F.C. Baia Mare -MM-'s goalkeeper Zsigmond Pál had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. In the 65th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Zsigmond Pál was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. 67 minutes into the match, Felix Montenegro had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Zsigmond Pál. F.C. Baia Mare -MM-'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felix Montenegro was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-8. Baia Mare -MM-'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 75th minute, when Cristian Sancho scored to the left of an out of position Zsigmond Pál, making the score, 0-9. In the 78th minute, Primitivo Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. In the 83rdth minute of the game Iosif Gurlui who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, F.C. Baia Mare -MM-'s Zsigmond Pál got control of the ball when Cristian Sancho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zsigmond Pál. Zsigmond Pál dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-10. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zsigmond Pál having to make a save. Ecuador played a much better game than F.C. Baia Mare -MM- and deserved their victory. The F.C. Baia Mare -MM- players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
