Benedito Trigo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Luz Tejedor went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Peru's corner Milagros Fraga fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Benedito Trigo quite easily take care of the ball. Serafim Barros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rolando Noboa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. Benedito Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 22nd minute of the match. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Sagarana Clube's goalkeeper Benedito Trigo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eliseo Mina fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benedito Trigo having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Peru's Milagros Fraga got a free kick in the 27th minute. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Éder Madureira, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Benedito Trigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julian Murillo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benedito Trigo saved Sagarana Clube from getting behind. Benedito Trigo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 35th minute of the match. Rupert Dearden made in the 36th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Eliseo Mina. In the 38th minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benedito Trigo was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Rolando Noboa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Salles, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 82nd minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benedito Trigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Peru would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
