The ball went over the crossbar instead. 8 minutes into the match, gipsy kings's goal looked a bit too open when Ingemar Kilman came free, but Jean-Pascal Weiss reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 10 minutes into the game, Philippe Legrand was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. gipsy kings's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Fluminense DF the free kick. Jean-Pascal Weiss made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ingemar Kilman in the 12th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Ingemar Kilman notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of gipsy kings's Jean-Pascal Weiss. Jean-Pascal Weiss was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Ingemar Kilman charged in rather forcefully in the 24th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ingemar Kilman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of gipsy kings booed when Fluminense DF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingemar Kilman didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute, Ingemar Kilman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jean-Pascal Weiss was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Ingemar Kilman scored 0-4 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jean-Pascal Weiss, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jean-Pascal Weiss took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ingemar Kilman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 38 minutes into the game, Ingemar Kilman cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Terry Pèlerin made in the 46th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Grégoire Lamouroux however managed to control. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

In the 72ndth minute of the game Prudencio Goiz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but gipsy kings's Jean-Pascal Weiss was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Fluminense DF's Osvaldo Furlan quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Terry Pèlerin, made in the 84th minute of the game. Prudencio Goiz succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 0-12 in the 93rd playminute. Prudencio Goiz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 96th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the final whistle sounded Fluminense DF left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than gipsy kings.
