The coaching staff of Golden Dragon FC protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Justo Argoitz had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Bambang Sagala had in the 14thth minute some difficulties stopping Cortez Gill's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. When Edgardo Olivera fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Cuenca S.C's protests and gave Edgardo Olivera a yellow card for diving instead. In the 20th minute of the match Leonides Horado sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Guillermo Pontones skillfully saved the ball. Guillermo Pontones took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Desiderio Etor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Golden Dragon FC booed when Cuenca S.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Xulio Arvelo didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 32 played minutes Golden Dragon FC got a freekick which was hit by Leonardo Alfonso. Golden Dragon FC's Bambang Sagala proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 33rd minute of the match, managed to save Golden Dragon FC from getting a goal against them. 34 minutes into the game, Desiderio Etor cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Guillermo Pontones was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Desiderio Etor in the 37th minute of play forced Cuenca S.C's goalkeeper Guillermo Pontones to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Celso Rayman kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eduardo Navariega made a kick off. A hard shot 51 in the game by Celso Rayman from a close distance when the talented Guillermo Pontones managed to make a qualified save. Cuenca S.C's players were relieved. If Celso Rayman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cuenca S.C's Guillermo Pontones proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save Cuenca S.C from getting a goal against them. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gustavo Aznar in the 70th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Guillermo Pontones saved Cuenca S.C from getting behind. After some fancy dribbling in the 71st minute, Armando Alamea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cuenca S.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Armando Alamea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bambang Sagala breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ştefan Ghiorman hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Cuenca S.C's defense didn't have a chance, in the 77th minute, when Desiderio Etor scored to the left of an out of position Guillermo Pontones, making the score, 0-4. In the 83rd match minute, Golden Dragon FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Raphael to maneuver through the defense. The audience was convinced that Desiderio Etor's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Guillermo Pontones was relentless in the 86th minute of the game. In the 87th match minute, Cuenca S.C was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Armando Alamea to maneuver through the defense. Pedro Raphael hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match.
