Carlisle Schultz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Zăreanu in the 45th minute of play. In the 45thth minute of the game Waldemar Gierlach who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fluminense DF's Carlisle Schultz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Champions Iasi were awarded a corner in the 47th minute after Fluminense DF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Basarab Alexandru took the corner. After taking down the ball on Champions Iasi's corner Basarab Alexandru fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Carlisle Schultz quite easily take care of the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

After 50 played minutes Champions Iasi got a freekick which was hit by Waldemar Gierlach. Rouven Nussli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Prudencio Goiz in the 54th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Prudencio Goiz in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rouven Nussli saved Champions Iasi from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Prudencio Goiz in the 66th minute of play forced Champions Iasi's goalkeeper Rouven Nussli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Prudencio Goiz charged in rather forcefully in the 79th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Prudencio Goiz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 79th match minute, Fluminense DF was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prudencio Goiz to maneuver through the defense.
