Leonardo Paz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jacinto Romero's shot from short distance in the 13th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabian Zăreanu in the 13th minute of play forced Fenerbahçe's goalkeeper Leonardo Paz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Champions Iasi's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eusebiu Crăciunaș in the 14th minute. Champions Iasi's Fabian Zăreanu was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Leonardo Paz in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 18 minutes had been played when some careless play by Champions Iasi's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Titan Nahas was slow to take the kick. During this time Fenerbahçe's players had a chance to rest. Leonardo Paz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabian Zăreanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Leonardo Paz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 21st minute, which inside left pole to 3-0. After 40 minutes of play, Champions Iasi's Waldemar Gierlach made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leonardo Paz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Titan Nahas kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Gazi Seralp hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute Fabian Zăreanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leonardo Paz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Waldemar Gierlach to make the kick off. Eusebiu Crăciunaș struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. Leonardo Paz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Champions Iasi. Leonardo Paz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Zăreanu in the 53rd minute of play. 54 minutes into the match, Fenerbahçe's goal looked a bit too open when Waldemar Gierlach came free, but Leonardo Paz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Binali Hicabi fell near the penalty area in the 57th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Fenerbahçe's protests and gave Binali Hicabi a yellow card for diving instead. After 63 minutes, Titan Nahas mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fenerbahçe and the Champions Iasi players grew even worse after the yellow card. Titan Nahas kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Leonardo Paz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldemar Gierlach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Champions Iasi fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 9-0. In the 92nd match minute, Fenerbahçe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tuncer İribaş to maneuver through the defense. Leonardo Paz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Waldemar Gierlach in the 96th minute of the match. Leonardo Paz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabian Zăreanu, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. There was no doubt that Champions Iasi were the better team. Champions Iasi's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
