Spectators: 37 (Terracing: 29, Seating: 8, VIP seats: 0) Champions Iasi's Waldemar Gierlach started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Xulio Arvelo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 6th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 8th minute, Champions Iasi's Waldemar Gierlach dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 13th minute of the match Cuenca S.C got a corner. Champions Iasi's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cortez Gill ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Cuenca S.C's corner Cortez Gill fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rouven Nussli quite easily take care of the ball. In the 14th minute Waldemar Gierlach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillermo Pontones saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Champions Iasi's Waldemar Gierlach in the 18th minute got a chance for a shot 18th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Cuenca S.C's goalie prevented a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Xulio Arvelo in the 20th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rouven Nussli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 23rd minute, Campos Orellan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 25th minute Waldemar Gierlach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillermo Pontones saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Waldemar Gierlach kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Guillermo Pontones. That made the score 2-1 in the 27 minute of play. After having played for 31 minutes, Harri Takavirta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Champions Iasi's supporters crossed their fingers, but Harri Takavirta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pontus Fagrell might have been able to make a better finish in the 33rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Guillermo Pontones. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Pontus Fagrell ran back to his position shaking his head. Guillermo Pontones came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Champions Iasi's Waldemar Gierlach. But to his dismay, Waldemar Gierlach quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Guillermo Pontones took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldemar Gierlach, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 40 minutes into the match, Cuenca S.C's goal looked a bit too open when Marian Ghiciușca came free, but Guillermo Pontones reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st minute of the match Champions Iasi got a corner. Cuenca S.C's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Stefan Pieters ran over to the corner to take the kick. Champions Iasi's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Stefan Pieters in the 44th minute. The corner led to Champions Iasi's Marian Ghiciușca getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eduardo Navariega to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Waldemar Gierlach shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Guillermo Pontones saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guillermo Pontones made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Zăreanu in the 56th minute of play. 57 minutes into the game, Marian Ghiciușca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Guillermo Pontones was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fabian Zăreanu scored 5-1 in the 63rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Guillermo Pontones, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Xulio Arvelo came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Cuenca S.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Xulio Arvelo couldn't finish the play. In the 70thth minute of the game Waldemar Gierlach who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cuenca S.C's Guillermo Pontones was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Rouven Nussli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Armando Alamea in the 74th minute of the match. Guillermo Pontones made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabian Zăreanu in the 76th minute of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Eduardo Navariega during the 78th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 78 played minutes Cuenca S.C got a freekick which was hit by Eduardo Navariega. Cuenca S.C were furious when Ştefan Ghiorman was red carded, 80 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 79 minutes into the game, one of Cuenca S.C:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Guillermo Pontones showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Marian Ghiciușca, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. 90 minutes into the match, Cuenca S.C's goal looked a bit too open when Marian Ghiciușca came free, but Guillermo Pontones reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 93 played minutes Cuenca S.C got a freekick which was hit by Armando Alamea. Guillermo Pontones came out of the goal in the 96th minute to try and stop a shot by Champions Iasi's Waldemar Gierlach. But to his dismay, Waldemar Gierlach quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 7-1.
