The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Axel Tasis a yellow card for diving instead. After 8 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Axel Tasis. In the 10th minute, Esteban Bladi got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Matthew Bzeu took the ball and in the 13 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Esteban Bladi in the 16th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abraham Sala could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. In the 28th minute, Esteban Bladi ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Axel Tasis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With an all-out effort, Lymington City's Benito Sanz threw himself towards the right post 37 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Esteban Bladi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Lymington City's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
