If Cristóbal Lataste had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rouven Nussli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tauro Fontecilla in the 9th minute of play. Remington Dobson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jacinto Romero in the 13th minute of play forced CDU Católica's goalkeeper Salamón Del Fierro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Champions Iasi's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Stefan Pieters in the 14th minute. The corner led Champions Iasi's Stefan Pieters to fire away a dangerous shot which Salamón Del Fierro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Salamón Del Fierro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remington Dobson in the 18th minute of the match. Remington Dobson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Salamón Del Fierro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. Cristóbal Lataste could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 23rd minute of the match, but Rouven Nussli made a huge save. 32 minutes into the match, Champions Iasi's Remington Dobson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Salamón Del Fierro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 34th minute Champions Iasi were awarded a corner. Stefan Pieters went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Champions Iasi's Stefan Pieters to fire away a dangerous shot which Salamón Del Fierro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. CDU Católica were awarded a corner in the 38th minute after Champions Iasi's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Cristóbal Lataste took the corner. A nice corner shot did that Cristóbal Lataste got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rouven Nussli quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Salamón Del Fierro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Remington Dobson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 42 minutes into the match, Champions Iasi's Remington Dobson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Salamón Del Fierro narrowly saved just below the crossbar. CDU Católica's Salamón Del Fierro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Remington Dobson in the 46th minute of play. Salbatore Aulestia's late challenge caught a Champions Iasi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Salbatore Aulestia helped the player get up and apologised. Salbatore Aulestia hit a great freekick 48 minutes into the match.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tauro Fontecilla was the one to do the kick off. In the 56th minute the ball was on its way in behind CDU Católica's goalkeeper Salamón Del Fierro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 59 minutes into the game, Stefan Pieters recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Salamón Del Fierro. Stefan Pieters showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristóbal Lataste in the 62nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rouven Nussli saved Champions Iasi from getting behind. Through an outstanding action, after 65 minutes, Salamón Del Fierro successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Ryan Giggs hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. Jacinto Romero's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Salamón Del Fierro firmly grabbed it by the left post. Salamón Del Fierro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Remington Dobson in the 72nd minute of play. In the 73rd minute, Jacinto Romero hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Salamón Del Fierro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Remington Dobson in the 74th minute of the match. 84 minutes into the game, CDU Católica's Tauro Fontecilla nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rouven Nussli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 96th minute, Tauro Fontecilla got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Champions Iasi had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
