Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Daniel Zorita took the kick off in the first half of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 4th minute of play forced Once Virgos FC's goalkeeper Fabio Maldonado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 6 minutes into the match, Once Virgos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Fabio Maldonado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 8th minute. Fabio Maldonado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Felix Montenegro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 18th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute. The corner led to Ecuador's Luis Andino getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Daniel Zorita in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fabio Maldonado prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 26th minute, Silverio Paulin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 29 minutes into the match, Once Virgos FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Fabio Maldonado reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fabio Maldonado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 31st minute of play. In the 35th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Fabio Maldonado. Once Virgos FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After having played for 40 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Fabio Maldonado made a huge save. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Fabio Maldonado. That made the score 0-2 in the 59 minute of play. After having played for 62 minutes, Jorginho Bertassi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Once Virgos FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jorginho Bertassi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Once Virgos FC's Fabio Maldonado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 67th minute of play. In the 67th minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fabián Fuentes's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. After 75 minutes, Fabián Fuentes made it 1-2 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 78 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Eustaquio Rumaldo came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Once Virgos FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Silverio Paulin in the 79th minute. A nice corner shot did that Florencio Oalo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Fabio Maldonado made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 84th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Jorginho Bertassi's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 91st minute of the game.
