Jose Correa's late challenge caught a Navarro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jose Correa helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 42nd minute. 4-0 became the score in the 47th minute when Ambrosio Vergaray elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ambrosio Vergaray to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Ambrosio Vergaray came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Navarro walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
