The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Sousa came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from David Modesto in the 10th minute of the match. In the 16th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but René Higuita saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 16 played minutes Seleção de Macau got a freekick which was hit by Octávio Valentim. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 30 minutes into the match. Krzysztof Jaraczewski received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jonathan Ferrant came out and tried to block the shot, but Krzysztof Jaraczewski slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 31st minute. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. 38 minutes into the match, Seleção de Macau's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but René Higuita reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santiago Sousa in the 42nd minute of the match. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. In the 48th minute, Octávio Valentim got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. René Higuita didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. Jonathan Ferrant took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from David Modesto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. René Higuita breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. René Higuita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 68th minute. Elias Pais hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. After having played for 72 minutes, Santiago Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Seleção de Macau's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santiago Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without René Higuita having to make a save. Octávio Valentim kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 89th minute of the game, Octávio Valentim landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Seleção de Macau made a substitution. Koča Kola replaced Octávio Valentim. The supporters of Seleção de Macau booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Patricio Costa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Krzysztof Jaraczewski scored 2-0 in the 95th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. There was no doubt that Seleção de Macau were the better team. Seleção de Macau's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
