Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Emilio Argina in the 41st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 45 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Emilio Argina came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 46th minute, Emilio Argina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hannover Reds fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willi Tilmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Hannover Reds had played much better football throughout.
