Estudiantes de La Plata's Ertaç Bilek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 3rd minute of play. Ertaç Bilek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Isidoro Sarmiento, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 5th match minute, Estudiantes de La Plata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gaudencio Berasko to maneuver through the defense. Ertaç Bilek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 10th minute of the match. After 11 played minutes Estudiantes de La Plata got a freekick which was hit by Flavio Sazon. Estudiantes de La Plata's Ertaç Bilek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 14th minute of play. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Panama's zone, Filomeno Flor stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal and Filomeno Flor tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abraham Alguacil fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ertaç Bilek having to interfere. Estudiantes de La Plata's Ertaç Bilek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Berganza in the 34th minute of play. After 35 played minutes Estudiantes de La Plata got a freekick which was hit by Gaudencio Berasko. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Estudiantes de La Plata's goalkeeper Ertaç Bilek, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Panama's Marcos Cotilla got control of the ball when Joel Hitzeder tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 45th minute, Tomas Berganza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Aaron Barrios hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. After the first half Panama were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Joel Hitzeder to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Tomas Berganza had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ertaç Bilek. Estudiantes de La Plata's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Berganza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Alex Cambeiro put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Ertaç Bilek. The supporters of Panama booed when Estudiantes de La Plata was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lázaro Anaya didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the last second Ertaç Bilek throw himself and got hold of the ball when Tomas Berganza in the 65thth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 67th minute of play forced Estudiantes de La Plata's goalkeeper Ertaç Bilek to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de La Plata's zone, Tomas Berganza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ertaç Bilek came out of the goal and Tomas Berganza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ertaç Bilek made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Berganza in the 78th minute of play. After 79 played minutes Tomas Berganza rounded Estudiantes de La Plata's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-5. A hard shot 85 in the game by Abraham Alguacil from a close distance when the talented Ertaç Bilek managed to make a qualified save. Estudiantes de La Plata's players were relieved. Pedro Rameriz kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. When Panama's Tomas Berganza, in the 90th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Panama. After a defensive mix-up in Estudiantes de La Plata's zone, Isidoro Sarmiento stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ertaç Bilek came out of the goal and Isidoro Sarmiento tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the final whistle sounded Panama left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Estudiantes de La Plata.
