In the 7th minute, Emilio Argina left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hannover Reds fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lars Voss in the 11th minute. After 19 minutes, Emilio Argina made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 22nd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernd Yuschni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Emilio Argina showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. After a rather tough play, Hannover Reds's Herbert Busch got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Hannover Reds's Bernd Yuschni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 34th minute of play. After 36 minutes, Camilo Gaos mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Venezuela and the Hannover Reds players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Camilo Gaos hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Willi Tilmann got free with Jonathan Ferrant in the 38th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willi Tilmann in the 40th minute of play. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

Jonathan Ferrant didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Willi Tilmann went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-0 was the resulting score. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Voss in the 59th minute of play. In the 61st minute, Jonathan Venegas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Willi Tilmann in the 64th minute of play. The supporters of Hannover Reds booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tomas Illescas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 68 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Patricio Costa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernd Yuschni narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 69 minutes into the game, Willi Tilmann cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 73rd minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernd Yuschni saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tomas Illescas in the 79thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Bernd Yuschni, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Willi Tilmann, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 87th minute of the game Raoul Kreibisch made a throw-in which Lars Voss played forward.
