Gerjan Staarman sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gerjan Staarman, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerjan Staarman in the 45th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Eliseo Noboa notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of SV Wissenkerke's Frits van Loo. Frits van Loo was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Axel Tasis made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Hugo Ferrant was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Costa Rica's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SV Wissenkerke the free kick. In the 52nd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Ferrant to maneuver through the defense. Jean-Paul Schuiling recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alan Moruga's late challenge caught a SV Wissenkerke's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alan Moruga helped the player get up and apologised. After 58 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. In the 60th minute, Alexander Carballo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to SV Wissenkerke getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Casper Tinselboer hit a great ball. In the 67thth minute of the game Gertjan Baars who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 68 minutes into the game, Juan Rubio was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. After 75 played minutes SV Wissenkerke got a freekick which was hit by Gertjan Baars. 80 minutes into the match, Gerjan Staarman notched a goal, 4-1, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 82 played minutes SV Wissenkerke got a freekick which was hit by Jurgen Koole. After 85 minutes of play, SV Wissenkerke's Mariano Bombarda made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Jean-Paul Schuiling managed to get in a good position for a shot. SV Wissenkerke's supporters rose to their feet, but Jean-Paul Schuiling was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jean-Paul Schuiling in the 91st minute of play.
