The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Fajteri's goal looked a bit too open when Jaime Pardo came free, but Vojkan Lapuh reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 6 minutes of play, Paraguay's Jaime Pardo made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vojkan Lapuh was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Fajteri's zone, Hector Covarrubias stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vojkan Lapuh came out of the goal and Hector Covarrubias tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Jaime Pardo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vojkan Lapuh was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. Jaime Pardo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Vojkan Lapuh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Fajteri's attentive Klavdijo Anžlovar managed to snatch the ball when Raul Venegas made a throw-in in the 15th minute of the game. With 16 minutes on the clock, Eduard Komatar commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 18th minute Jaime Pardo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vojkan Lapuh saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 20th minute, Jaime Pardo made a precise shot to the right of Vojkan Lapuh. Fajteri's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. 24 minutes into the game, Juan Diego Tenorio threw the ball into play from the sideline. Fajteri's Giuliano Černilec quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. After a rather tough play, Fajteri's Tonček Sternad got a free kick in the 25th minute. Vojkan Lapuh was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 31 minutes into the match, Hector Covarrubias notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Fajteri's Vojkan Lapuh. Vojkan Lapuh was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vojkan Lapuh took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 36 minutes into the match, Jaime Pardo notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Fajteri's Vojkan Lapuh. Vojkan Lapuh was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Paraguay getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Alan Campos hit a great ball. Fajteri's Giuliano Černilec quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Juan Diego Tenorio, made in the 42nd minute of the game. 47 minutes into the match, Jaime Pardo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vojkan Lapuh. Fajteri's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jaime Pardo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-6.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jaime Pardo made a kick off. 59 minutes into the game, Raul Venegas threw the ball into play from the sideline. Fajteri's Giuliano Černilec quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Primitivo Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 64th minute, Paraguay's Primitivo Escribano ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Vojkan Lapuh. Vojkan Lapuh yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-7. The supporters of Paraguay booed when Fajteri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Milko Aubelj didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jose Sanz blasted a shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vojkan Lapuh having to make a save. Vojkan Lapuh was out of position in the 72 minute of play, and Hector Covarrubias capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Hector Covarrubias really showed his touch with that goal: 0-8. After a rather tough play, Fajteri's Armido Mikluž got a free kick in the 75th minute. Hector Covarrubias took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vojkan Lapuh. Vojkan Lapuh dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-9. Vojkan Lapuh was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Primitivo Escribano. The throw-in from Emiljan Muhić in the 84th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Paraguay's Jaime Pardo. Vojkan Lapuh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jaime Pardo in the 85th minute of the match. After 92 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Alan Campos.
