After 10 minutes, Efrain Moruga mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Costa Rica and the Koszmarki players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 10 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Efrain Moruga. The crowd rose to their feet as Radomir Traczewski kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. Przemyslaw Zaworski kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the game, Leon Skarpiak was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Koszmarki's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Costa Rica the free kick. Leon Skarpiak hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Koszmarki's Przemyslaw Zaworski got a free kick in the 39th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Eliseo Noboa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Costa Rica's supporters rose to their feet, but Eliseo Noboa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ziemowit Majtyka breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Lautaro Puig's late challenge caught a Koszmarki's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lautaro Puig helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Lautaro Puig hit a great ball. Gilbert Biegun hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. Ziemowit Majtyka stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Axel Tasis's shot from short distance in the 48th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After 52 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Alan Moruga. Radomir Traczewski received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Gilbert Biegun was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 63 minutes had been played. Gilbert Biegun didn't get a good kick on the ball. 64 minutes into the match, Koszmarki's goalkeeper Ziemowit Majtyka had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Puig. After a defensive mix-up in Costa Rica's zone, Adam Plucinik stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Benito Sanz came out of the goal and Adam Plucinik tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eliseo Noboa might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ziemowit Majtyka. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eliseo Noboa ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Aaron Alcocer during the 74th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Koszmarki booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position.
