Scott Bramhall took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jaime Pardo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 6 minutes into the match, Fc Malá Lula's goal looked a bit too open when Hector Covarrubias came free, but Scott Bramhall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Fc Malá Lula getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Seb Holdsworth hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in Fc Malá Lula's zone, Jaime Pardo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Scott Bramhall came out of the goal and Jaime Pardo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jaime Pardo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 16th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 20th match minute, Fc Malá Lula was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Eduard Bistreanu to maneuver through the defense. Jaime Pardo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 22nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Scott Bramhall. Fc Malá Lula's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Hector Covarrubias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Scott Bramhall tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Jaime Pardo got free in front of the goal in the 35th minute he wasn't very focused and chipped the ball just over the goal. Scott Bramhall was delighted since he was out of position and the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. After 36 played minutes Fc Malá Lula got a freekick which was hit by Seb Holdsworth. Alan Campos hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Jacobo Nores didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Alfredo Intxixu went, in the 40th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Pardo to make the kick off.
