But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ruperto Gonza couldn't finish the play. 35 minutes into the match, Gard Bredesen had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Gard Bredesen was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Gard Bredesen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 45th minute.

Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 58th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Thomas Revheim. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. POPODARA F.C fully deserved thier win.
