The crowd rose to their feet as CD.AUKINKO's Dario Osorio slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-0 after 7 minutes of play. The supporters of CD.AUKINKO booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 12 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Carballo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jaume Parrini could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 16th minute of the match, but Benito Sanz made a huge save. After having played for 18 minutes, Carlos Gustavo Panussi managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. CD.AUKINKO's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Gustavo Panussi was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 20 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Aaron Alcocer. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Arnaldo Delpiano having to interfere. Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaume Parrini. When Axel Tasis fell near the penalty area in the 35th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Axel Tasis a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of CD.AUKINKO booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Axel Tasis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lautaro Puig hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Dario Osorio struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for CD.AUKINKO. 47 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jaume Parrini. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Carlos Gustavo Panussi made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Juan Rubio to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Carlos Gustavo Panussi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 69 played minutes CD.AUKINKO got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Gustavo Panussi. After a rather tough play, CD.AUKINKO's Francisco Miguel Palazuelos got a free kick in the 69th minute. In the 77th minute Dario Osorio shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 80th minute by Eliseo Noboa got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. A collision led to CD.AUKINKO getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Francisco Miguel Palazuelos hit a great ball. If Carlos Gustavo Panussi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 86 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Eliseo Noboa. In the 89th minute Axel Tasis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaldo Delpiano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 90th minute, Dario Osorio got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Arnaldo Delpiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see CD.AUKINKO lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
