After some fancy dribbling in the 13th minute, Andrés Zepeda managed to get in a good position for a shot. CD.AUKINKO's supporters rose to their feet, but Andrés Zepeda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Camilo Franco hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. 16 minutes had been played when some careless play by Uruguay's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Rogerio Villamil was slow to take the kick. During this time CD.AUKINKO's players had a chance to rest. A sloppy throw-in by Øyvind Vikane in the 20th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Uruguay's Francisco Seco. In the 20th minute Maximiliano Escribano shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Cristóbal Campos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristóbal Campos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 22 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goalkeeper Joaquin Gayoso had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Miquel Maquieira. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Francisco Seco got a free kick in the 23rd minute. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Desiderio Borges in the 24th minute of play. Cristóbal Campos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Francisco Seco's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. When Uruguay's Maximiliano Escribano, in the 35th minute, received a pass right in front of the net, it looked like a certain goal, but his shot went outside. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. Through an outstanding action, after 36 minutes, Joaquin Gayoso successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Øyvind Vikane hit a great freekick 40 minutes into the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Francisco Seco to make the kick off. 59 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Andrés Zepeda came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of CD.AUKINKO booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Beldad didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cristóbal Campos made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Francisco Seco sent off a good shot on target. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cristóbal Campos having to interfere. The Uruguay supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Uruguay would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
