Steen Müür showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Andino, who was totally free with the ball in the 7th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 10th minute of play forced Heineken Youths's goalkeeper Steen Müür to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 13th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Steen Müür. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. Ecuador's Cristian Sancho managed to work through Heineken Youths's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Cristian Sancho dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 22nd minute to try and stop a shot by Heineken Youths's Strong Body. But to his dismay, Strong Body quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. After a rather tough play, Heineken Youths's Heiko Cruijff got a free kick in the 25th minute. Heineken Youths's Steen Müür played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 26th minute of play. 28 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Steen Müür was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 35 minutes into the match, Heineken Youths's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Steen Müür reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Steen Müür made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 40th minute of play. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Strong Body to make the kick off. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Boukjan van Dongen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 56th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Steen Müür. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. 56 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Steen Müür. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-3. 59 minutes into the game, Boukjan van Dongen cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Steen Müür didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luis Andino went, in the 64th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-4 was the resulting score. Steen Müür made an important save on a dangerous shot by Felix Montenegro in the 69th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Strong Body stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Strong Body tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, Heineken Youths's Ramon Zadelhoff got a free kick in the 71st minute. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Heineken Youths was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Boukjan van Dongen didn't get a good kick on the ball. Steen Müür came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Ecuador's Daniel Zorita. But to his dismay, Daniel Zorita quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-5. 86 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita lined in a short shot 2-6 behind a frustrated Steen Müür. After having played for 89 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Agustín Saelices during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 93 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Agustín Saelices. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Steen Müür made a huge save.
