If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bernt Ånger made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, 3City United's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Bernt Ånger reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Remigiusz Mlekodaj struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for 3City United. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernt Ånger having to interfere. Boguslaw Marczyniec sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Remigiusz Mlekodaj to make the kick off. Bernt Ånger made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 52nd minute. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernt Ånger having to interfere. 3City United's Bernt Ånger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 57th minute of play. In the 65th minute, Boguslaw Marczyniec left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The 3City United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 68 minutes, Dominik Galagan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the 3City United and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 69 played minutes 3City United got a freekick which was hit by Dominik Galagan. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Bernt Ånger made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 78th minute of play forced 3City United's goalkeeper Bernt Ånger to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 79th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. 3City United's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by I Putu Tu in the 85th minute. The corner led 3City United's I Putu Tu to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 3City United succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
