Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Kostas Briakos in the 18th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, INTER's goal looked a bit too open when Tomas Illescas came free, but Ignacio Mahuzier reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Andrei Măgură in the 21st minute of the match. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Ignacio Mahuzier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 44 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jonathan Venegas.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Ignacio Mahuzier in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 61 minutes, Markos Kalabalikis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the INTER and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to INTER getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Markos Kalabalikis hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 71st minute of play forced INTER's goalkeeper Ignacio Mahuzier to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 73rd match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jonathan Venegas to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Andrei Măgură, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nontas Alexatos in the 82nd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kostas Briakos charged in rather forcefully in the 86th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Kostas Briakos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 86th minute, Kostas Briakos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 88th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Andrei Măgură stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Andrei Măgură tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.
