The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Cody Mann helped the player get up and apologised. Damien Fowler hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. In the last second Lautaro Navarro throw himself and got hold of the ball when Damien Fowler in the 23rdth minute from his position got away a shot towards the right post. Alf Ploughman showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmundo Espiga, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alf Ploughman saved FC Soldeu from getting behind. When Kurt Milton fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Soldeu's protests and gave Kurt Milton a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Honduras booed when FC Soldeu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kurt Milton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alf Ploughman took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sebastian Villa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in FC Soldeu's zone, Sebastian Villa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alf Ploughman came out of the goal and Sebastian Villa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emanuel Ocampo hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 42nd minute, Ian Lomas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Honduras booed when FC Soldeu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tod Simpson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sebastian Villa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 47th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edmundo Espiga made a kick off. Alf Ploughman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 54th minute. Damien Fowler received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Lautaro Navarro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 79th minute of play forced FC Soldeu's goalkeeper Alf Ploughman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd minute, Sebastian Villa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. At last the ball reached Esteban Carvallo at the corner, ending with a kick to difficult to stop for the goalkeeper of FC Soldeu. 1-2.
