Spectators: 43 (Terracing: 33, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tomas Illescas took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 3rd minute, Patricio Costa left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Venezuela fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 5 minutes into the game, Camilo Gaos was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Venezuela's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Inter Sibiu the free kick. In the 5th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Horia Crăciunescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. FC Inter Sibiu's Horia Crăciunescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomas Illescas in the 13th minute of play. 20 minutes into the match, Tomas Illescas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Horia Crăciunescu. FC Inter Sibiu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tomas Illescas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Jonathan Ferrant stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mircea Bostan's shot from short distance in the 24th minute. When Guillermo Mariano fell near the penalty area in the 27th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Guillermo Mariano a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of FC Inter Sibiu booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Guillermo Mariano didn't get a good kick on the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vintilă Dindelegan. 29 minutes into the game, Venezuela's Patricio Costa nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Horia Crăciunescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. In the 35th minute, Tomas Illescas made a precise shot to the right of Horia Crăciunescu. FC Inter Sibiu's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind FC Inter Sibiu's goalkeeper Horia Crăciunescu, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The FC Inter Sibiu players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Venezuela were winning 0-4.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Alin Dimofte to make the kick off. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Horia Crăciunescu came out and tried to block the shot, but Tomas Illescas slotted it home off the left post making it 0-5 in the 54th minute. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of FC Inter Sibiu booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. 73 minutes in the game, Patricio Costa fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Horia Crăciunescu having to interfere. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alin Dimofte in the 78th minute of play. Horia Crăciunescu didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Illescas went, in the 79th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. In the 82nd minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 85th minute, Tomas Illescas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Horia Crăciunescu. The goal made the score 0-7. FC Inter Sibiu's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Patricio Costa 88 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-8. After 95 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Illescas. Venezuela's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
