The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 2 minutes into the game, Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ali Vedat Çelikyay made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. 6 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Santiago Meruendano came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 7 minutes of play, Union Y Progreso F.C.'s Santiago Meruendano made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Union Y Progreso F.C.'s Ali Vedat Çelikyay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 10th minute of play. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zeng Ting Xing in the 13th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Union Y Progreso F.C.'s Zeng Ting Xing ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Santiago Meruendano in the 20th minute of play. 21 minutes into the match, Union Y Progreso F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Ali Vedat Çelikyay reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Union Y Progreso F.C.'s Ali Vedat Çelikyay played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 28th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Union Y Progreso F.C.'s zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zeng Ting Xing in the 39th minute. Ali Vedat Çelikyay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 40th minute of the match.
