After a rather tough play, Honduras's Luca Espinar got a free kick in the 10th minute. Zlatko Zahovič scored 1-1 in the 11th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lautaro Navarro, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Moises Tafalla might have been able to make a better finish in the 16th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Aaron Tanti. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Moises Tafalla ran back to his position shaking his head. Aaron Tanti showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Moises Tafalla, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. In the 21st match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Villa to maneuver through the defense. The crowd rose to their feet as Zlatko Zahovič kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Lautaro Navarro. That made the score 2-1 in the 22 minute of play. The long shot by Carlo Camilleri in the 25th minute really tested Lautaro Navarro's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Honduras's Christian Sancho quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Vilmos Szikora, made in the 29th minute of the game. Edmundo Espiga sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aaron Tanti having to interfere. Aaron Tanti showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sebastian Villa in the 38th minute of the match. Carlo Camilleri's late challenge caught a Honduras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carlo Camilleri helped the player get up and apologised. Carlo Camilleri kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Milagros Cabal kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. Severino Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lautaro Navarro having to interfere. Severino Bueno took the ball and in the 57 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. The throw-in from Fabio Savona in the 65th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Honduras's Esteban Carvallo. In the 68thth minute of the game Severino Bueno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 69 minutes into the game, Enzo Perez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Eleven Young Elephants's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Honduras the free kick. In the 69th minute, Enzo Perez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 70 played minutes, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Aaron Tanti came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Honduras reached it. Moises Tafalla kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. The supporters of Honduras booed when Eleven Young Elephants was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Zlatko Zahovič didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute, Zlatko Zahovič made a precise shot to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Honduras's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-1. In the 82ndth minute of the game Severino Bueno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Honduras's Lautaro Navarro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severino Bueno in the 84th minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Darren Carabott, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. The audience was convinced that Severino Bueno's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lautaro Navarro was relentless in the 91st minute of the game. A collision led to Eleven Young Elephants getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Qu Peng Kang hit a great ball. Honduras's Edmundo Espiga got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. For all the effort they put into the match, the Honduras players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Eleven Young Elephants.
