After 7 minutes of play, Mexico's Joel Gaona made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Angelo Fresnos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Angelo Fresnos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 10th minute of the match. After 11 minutes FLAMENGO San Sebastian's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. In the 13th minute, Faruk Nafiz Arman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The crowd rose to their feet as Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Angelo Fresnos. That made the score 2-0 after 37 minutes of play. FLAMENGO San Sebastian's Tibo Mampaerts was substituted for Faruk Nafiz Arman. The throw-in from Leonardo Leoz in the 41st minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by FLAMENGO San Sebastian's Thomas Vermaelen. 45 minutes into the match, FLAMENGO San Sebastian's Emiliano Pancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. 51 minutes into the match, FLAMENGO San Sebastian's goal looked a bit too open when Lautaro Mancebo came free, but Angelo Fresnos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 51st minute, Lautaro Mancebo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Angelo Fresnos was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Leonardo Leoz kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. In the 57th minute Facundo Cadaval shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelo Fresnos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. FLAMENGO San Sebastian's Thomas Vermaelen quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Mexico's Lautaro Mancebo got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. FLAMENGO San Sebastian's Angelo Fresnos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 86th minute of play. After 87 minutes FLAMENGO San Sebastian's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. The corner ended in Lautaro Mancebo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but FLAMENGO San Sebastian's Angelo Fresnos did a great save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Alberto Tafalla in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Angelo Fresnos prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 89 played minutes FLAMENGO San Sebastian got a freekick which was hit by Thomas Vermaelen. For all the effort they put into the match, the FLAMENGO San Sebastian players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Mexico.
