Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Israel Edorta, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Leopoldo Dominix showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 6th minute of the match. When Cléber Catarinense came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Sport Club Abrilense fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cléber Catarinense couldn't finish the play. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 11th minute. The corner led Ecuador's Felix Montes to fire away a dangerous shot which Leopoldo Dominix despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 14th minute, Cléber Catarinense fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cléber Catarinense in the 18th minute of the match. 18 minutes into the game, Sport Club Abrilense's Cléber Catarinense nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Israel Edorta stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Israel Edorta tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Leopoldo Dominix having to interfere. Israel Edorta scored 2-0 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 28 minutes, Julio Vera successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Leopoldo Dominix tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 32nd minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Leopoldo Dominix was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. In the 37th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Israel Edorta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 42nd minute of play forced Sport Club Abrilense's goalkeeper Leopoldo Dominix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Primitivo Andino got a free kick in the 45th minute. 47 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Leopoldo Dominix narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 47 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Leopoldo Dominix was left in no man's land by his defense there! After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Cléber Catarinense made a kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Leandro Luix was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Sport Club Abrilense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 52nd minute, Leandro Luix hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With his leg Leopoldo Dominix managed to avoid a goal in the 60thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After 66 played minutes Sport Club Abrilense got a freekick which was hit by Leandro Luix. Leandro Luix hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Sport Club Abrilense's Bonifacio Fero got a free kick in the 76th minute. Daniel Zorita blasted a shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Leopoldo Dominix having to make a save. With a little luck, Sport Club Abrilense's Leopoldo Dominix got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Leopoldo Dominix in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Sport Club Abrilense's Leopoldo Dominix managed to reach the ball for a save. 86 minutes into the match, Sport Club Abrilense's goalkeeper Leopoldo Dominix had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. 88 minutes into the match, Sport Club Abrilense's goalkeeper Leopoldo Dominix had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. From a short distance, Ecuador's Luis Andino, in the 90th minute, tried to place the ball behind Leopoldo Dominix, but the ball hit the right post on the wrong side and went out. In the 90th minute, Sport Club Abrilense's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cléber Catarinense in the 92nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Florian Zawadzki kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. After having played for 94 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Sport Club Abrilense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Florian Zawadzki didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 97th minute, Tobias Felo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
