Despite this Thiago Pliego quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. FC Schonebeck's Lance Malliouris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mariano Lacasa in the 22nd minute of play. Mariano Lacasa was slow to take the kick. During this time Chile's players had a chance to rest. Mariano Lacasa made a great header on Chile's corner, it was just that FC Schonebeck's Lance Malliouris managed to reach the ball for a save. 29 minutes into the match, Guillermo Fontirroig had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lance Malliouris. FC Schonebeck's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Guillermo Fontirroig was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Mariano Lacasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lance Malliouris having to interfere. In the 37th minute Bengt Persson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Guillermo Fontirroig hit a great ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Mariano Lacasa made the kick off in the second half. Lance Malliouris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 64th minute, Mariano Lacasa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lance Malliouris was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-3. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bengt Persson in the 67th minute of play. After 69 played minutes FC Schonebeck got a freekick which was hit by Bengt Persson. After 73 minutes, Mariano Lacasa made it 0-4 with a short kick to the right side. FC Schonebeck's Lance Malliouris tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gerardo Pozo kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. Lance Malliouris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 77th minute of play. With a little luck, FC Schonebeck's Lance Malliouris got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line.
