The supporters of Arrows Academy FC booed when GuateFortín was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Thierry Henry didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 4th minute Larry Ferrell shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ged Nightingale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Stanyo Búnkov in the 9th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Stanyo Búnkov in the 16th minute of play forced Arrows Academy FC's goalkeeper Ged Nightingale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 18th minute the ball was on its way in behind GuateFortín's goalkeeper Nery Pumpido, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 22nd minute Grzegorz Piechna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Stanyo Búnkov kicked well hit freekick during the 29th minute of the match. Ged Nightingale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Stanyo Búnkov, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. After 47 minutes of play, GuateFortín's Sven-Edvin Jansson made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ged Nightingale was left in no man's land by his defense there! The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Larry Ferrell stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Arrows Academy FC's Ged Nightingale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Angel Alvarenga in the 55th minute of play.
