Orlando Casaus was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 18th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cícero Proença. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. 18 minutes into the match, Chile's Mariano Lacasa sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cícero Proença narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ture Arenius got free with Thiago Pliego in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Kostas Gärtner hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Mariano Lacasa, 43 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Gerardo Pozo lost his temper 44 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. After 45 played minutes Chile got a freekick which was hit by Gerardo Pozo. When Ture Arenius came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the SC Otten fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ture Arenius couldn't finish the play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-3 lead.

The wind increased when Ture Arenius made the kick off in the second half. Thiago Pliego showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ture Arenius, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. In the 60th minute, Gottfrid Tolsson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Otten made a substitution. Pankracy Setara replaced Ture Arenius.
