Teodoro Criston made in the 20th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Miguel Frechoso immediately put the ball in play. In the 34th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 36 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bernardo Inautzi was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 41 minutes, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Patricio Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 46 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernardo Inautzi narrowly saved just below the crossbar.

The wind increased when Elpidio Tipi made the kick off in the second half. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Bernardo Inautzi came out and tried to block the shot, but Tomas Illescas slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 54th minute. In the 60th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. In the 74th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Consejo del Mate's Bernardo Inautzi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Consejo del Mate from getting a goal against them. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nicasio Polo during the 84th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Bernardo Inautzi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Venezuela. In the 93rd minute of the match, Patricio Costa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bernardo Inautzi saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Bernardo Inautzi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Patricio Costa in the 95th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 98th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
