After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Emilio Rizzo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Emilio Rizzo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tomas Illescas to strike the kick off in the second half. Mary Cau might have been able to make a better finish in the 52nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mary Cau ran back to his position shaking his head. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Emilio Rizzo put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. 57 minutes into the match, Duri come il marmo's goal looked a bit too open when Patricio Costa came free, but Emiliano Polito reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Emilio Rizzo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. In the 63rd minute Emilio Rizzo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 66th minute, Ludvig Rudkvist made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-1. In the 75th minute of the match, Patricio Costa tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Emiliano Polito saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. In the 77th minute Alberigo Addari shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alberigo Addari took the ball and in the 83 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 7-1. Alberigo Addari received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the game, Duri come il marmo's Emilio Rizzo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-1. Duri come il marmo walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
