Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rene Indartsu in the 3rd minute. 5 minutes into the match, Celso Osmundo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Celso Osmundo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. In the 9th match minute, Te Moriste en Madrid was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nicasio Rico to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rene Indartsu, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Te Moriste en Madrid's Celso Osmundo collided with an opponent after 12 minutes. He was hit so badly that he fractured his arm. When Jonathan Venegas fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Jonathan Venegas a yellow card for diving instead. In the 15th minute of the match Emilio Gelacio sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Jonathan Ferrant skillfully saved the ball. The supporters of Te Moriste en Madrid booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 19th minute Rene Indartsu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Te Moriste en Madrid's Nicasio Rico got a free kick in the 21st minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Indartsu in the 25th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 27 minutes, Rene Indartsu put it in 2-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. In the 31st minute, Te Moriste en Madrid's Rene Indartsu ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 3-0. Rene Indartsu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Rene Indartsu struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Te Moriste en Madrid. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Patricio Lluques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rene Indartsu in the 53rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Mark Schwarzer made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Rene Indartsu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Rene Indartsu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Te Moriste en Madrid's Nicasio Rico quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Salvador Gisbert, made in the 66th minute of the game. Mark Schwarzer came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Venezuela's Tomas Illescas. But to his dismay, Tomas Illescas quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Rene Indartsu blasted a shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonathan Ferrant having to make a save. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rene Indartsu in the 77th minute of play. In the 80th minute, Patricio Costa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mark Schwarzer was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-2. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Mark Schwarzer tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Nicasio Rico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The throw-in from Alex Chicote in the 92nd minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Te Moriste en Madrid's Nicasio Rico. There was no doubt that Te Moriste en Madrid were the better team. Te Moriste en Madrid's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
