After a defensive mix-up in CE LAJEADENSE RS's zone, Gil dos Santos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lauro Linhares came out of the goal and Gil dos Santos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After a rather tough play, CE LAJEADENSE RS's Luís de Lara got a free kick in the 48th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Falcão Marques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Falcão Marques shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lauro Linhares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's Adalberto Vianna slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lauro Linhares. That made the score 0-1 after 55 minutes of play. After 60th play minutes Adalberto Vianna shot 0-2, a short shot which went by Lauro Linhares and just under the crossbar into goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Carlos Netto during the 64th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Falcão Marques in the 82nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lauro Linhares saved CE LAJEADENSE RS from getting behind. Luís Eduardo Arce scored 0-4 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lauro Linhares, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's Charles Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luís de Lara in the 90th minute of play. CE LAJEADENSE RS were furious when Oséas Miranda was red carded, 93 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. 92 minutes into the game, one of CE LAJEADENSE RS:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty.

Rondinone F.C - FDFDF's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
