The supporters of PALMEIRAS FC booed when Uruguay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Franco didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, Bladi Soto managed to get in a good position for a shot. PALMEIRAS FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bladi Soto was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquin Gayoso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 24 minutes into the match, PALMEIRAS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Maximiliano Escribano came free, but Peder Lefland reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Camilo Franco got a free kick in the 25th minute. Peder Lefland showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Gisbert, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The supporters of Uruguay booed when PALMEIRAS FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wiliam Goiano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dé Matorin made in the 36th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which João Vítor Nunes however managed to control. Bladi Soto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 37th minute of the match, but Joaquin Gayoso made a huge save. 39 minutes into the game, PALMEIRAS FC's Bladi Soto nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joaquin Gayoso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Lorenzo Insigne in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Joaquin Gayoso saved Uruguay from getting behind. In the 45th minute, Francisco Seco got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bladi Soto made a kick off. Bladi Soto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Bladi Soto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Joaquin Gayoso read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 56th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Maximiliano Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximiliano Escribano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Francisco Seco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Peder Lefland having to interfere. PALMEIRAS FC's Peder Lefland played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maximiliano Escribano in the 67th minute of play. After having played for 68 minutes, Bladi Soto managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PALMEIRAS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bladi Soto was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 72nd minute of the match, Francisco Seco got a very nice opportunity to score, but Peder Lefland was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. PALMEIRAS FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 73rd minute, when Maximiliano Escribano scored to the left of an out of position Peder Lefland, making the score, 2-1. Peder Lefland was out of position in the 84 minute of play, and Maximiliano Escribano capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Maximiliano Escribano really showed his touch with that goal: 2-2. Camilo Franco helped the player get up and apologised. Uruguay were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
