Colombia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lucjan Penkalski was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joakim Lindholm was the one to do the kick off. Marco-Antonio Nunez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Santino Seco in the 52nd minute of the match. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lucjan Penkalski in the 58th minute of play. With an all-out effort, Colombia's Marco-Antonio Nunez threw himself towards the right post 61 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Abram Sarmiento, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Marco-Antonio Nunez came out and tried to block the shot, but Abram Secada slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 89th minute. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Meliana fans cheered their team off the field, for while Colombia had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
