Joel Gaona was extremely unlucky when he, in the 3rd minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fivos Martinakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th minute Qwinton Urtubia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Smash FC's Paulino Mitxaut proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save Smash FC from getting a goal against them. Smash FC's Paulino Mitxaut played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 20th minute of play. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Viviano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Celso Cedro in the 24th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Paulino Mitxaut in the 26th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Smash FC's Paulino Mitxaut proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 31st minute of the match, managed to save Smash FC from getting a goal against them. Alberto Tafalla kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Denis Viviano in the 32nd minute of play. In the 33rd minute Smash FC were awarded a corner. Venancio Felipillo went to the cornerflag to take it. Macos Graciani thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Dante Lacasa, a very annoying self made goal in the 34th minute which led to 0-1. Lautaro Mancebo struck a weak shot in the 41st minute. Paulino Mitxaut didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. In the 43rd minute, Joel Gaona made a precise shot to the right of Paulino Mitxaut. Smash FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Denis Viviano to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Mexico's Luca Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paulino Mitxaut narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 59 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Denis Viviano came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Paulino Mitxaut took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Paulino Mitxaut tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Mexico fans cheered their team off the field, for while Smash FC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
