Manolis Apostolakis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Kyriakos Kortselis in the 11th minute of play. Kyriakos Kortselis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A throw-in in the 16th minute of the game was made by Thanasis Mourouzis with Konstantinos Tavlaridis as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 17th minute of play forced PAOK-RE4's goalkeeper Manolis Apostolakis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manolis Apostolakis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 19th minute of the match. In the 21st match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gaos to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute, Tomas Illescas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Illescas to make the kick off. 50 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Manolis Apostolakis narrowly saved just below the crossbar. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kyriakos Kortselis in the 84th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Manolis Apostolakis in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Venezuela walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
