The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tomas Illescas in the 8th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Moisés Novaes saved JFSP from getting behind. Jonathan Venegas hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. JFSP's Cenap İğdemir couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 13th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Venezuela. In the 16th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alex Chicote to maneuver through the defense. Adalberto Cruz scored 2-0 in the 23rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Henrique Teixeira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a free kick in the 40th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Moisés Novaes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Baykal Yanal kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Henrique Teixeira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 64th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 68th minute, Alex Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 71st minute the ball was on its way in behind JFSP's goalkeeper Moisés Novaes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Venezuela's attentive Salvador Gisbert managed to snatch the ball when Laerte Barbosa made a throw-in in the 91st minute of the game. Roberto Pato received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. JFSP's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
