The Panama fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marcos Cotilla should have stopped the shot. After 8 played minutes AtletikEdirne got a freekick which was hit by Bora Han Öğün. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bora Han Öğün, who was totally free with the ball in the 11th minute. Panama's Marcos Cotilla proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 13th minute of the match, managed to save Panama from getting a goal against them. Bora Han Öğün who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 14thth minute tested the skills of Marcos Cotilla when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Marcos Cotilla was out of position in the 15 minute of play, and Bora Han Öğün capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Bora Han Öğün really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. After a rather tough play, AtletikEdirne's Yattara Usluer got a free kick in the 18th minute. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilbert Harendarski in the 21st minute of play. In the 24th minute Gilbert Harendarski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 26th minute of play forced AtletikEdirne's goalkeeper Ünal Akbel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gilbert Harendarski in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Marcos Cotilla prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The audience thought a goal was coming when Batuhan Bilgin got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Batuhan Bilgin stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes AtletikEdirne got a freekick which was hit by Ahmet Oğuz Şerhenk. 54 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Gilbert Harendarski came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilbert Harendarski in the 59th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in AtletikEdirne's zone, Tomas Berganza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ünal Akbel came out of the goal and Tomas Berganza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When Dylan Sarmiento fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Panama's protests and gave Dylan Sarmiento a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Panama getting a freekick after 79 minutes play. Tomas Berganza hit a great ball. After 80 played minutes, AtletikEdirne's Aitor Japón shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in AtletikEdirne reached it. Bora Han Öğün scored 3-0 in the 81st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marcos Cotilla, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Batuhan Bilgin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ünal Akbel didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Berganza went, in the 91st minute, to the upper right corner, 4-1 was the resulting score. Panama's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
