In the 25th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Gorgory's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. Abel Orlan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Abel Orlan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agustín Saelices in the 37th minute of the match. If Gheorghe Ecobescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gorgory's Abel Orlan proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 57th minute of the match, managed to save Gorgory from getting a goal against them. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Abel Orlan made a huge save. Abel Orlan made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 62nd minute. Gorgory's Elroy Snijders got a good chance for a goal in the 62nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elroy Snijders's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 76th minute of play. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gorgory made a substitution.
