In the 32ndth minute of the game Julian Murillo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Deportivo Tachito's Elias Selatse was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Belmiro Arruda got free with Rolando Noboa in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Deportivo Tachito booed when Peru was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 36 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emmanuel Reyes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elias Selatse showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luz Tejedor, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute.
