The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Jaime Cazalla kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. A collision led to C. A. Atlanta getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Amadeo Amato hit a great ball. Maximiliano Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Teodoro Primo in the 20th minute of the match. C. A. Atlanta's Constantino Bertol got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Francisco Seco in the 28th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tony Guimarães prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Maximiliano Escribano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Teodoro Primo in the 36thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Joaquin Gayoso, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Camilo Franco got a free kick in the 36th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Francisco Seco was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, C. A. Atlanta's Teodoro Primo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquin Gayoso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Camilo Franco came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Camilo Franco couldn't finish the play. C. A. Atlanta's Tony Guimarães proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 65th minute of the match, managed to save C. A. Atlanta from getting a goal against them. In the 67th minute Teodoro Primo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joaquin Gayoso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by Uruguay's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Teodoro Primo was slow to take the kick. During this time C. A. Atlanta's players had a chance to rest. Amadeo Amato got his second yellow card in the match during the 70th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 70th match minute, C. A. Atlanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeo Amato to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute, Jaime Cazalla sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and C. A. Atlanta's Tony Guimarães didn't even have to move. In the 81st match minute, C. A. Atlanta was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iker Dolfos to maneuver through the defense. In the 88th minute, Federico Gil hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Maximiliano Escribano hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Maximiliano Escribano managed to get in a good position for a shot. Uruguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Maximiliano Escribano was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tony Guimarães breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. C. A. Atlanta succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Uruguay had controlled the match.
