Velko Borgovski's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 4thth minute, Benito Sanz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. If Axel Tasis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Lautaro Puig had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Velko Borgovski sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Aaron Alcocer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After 20 minutes Costa Rica's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Ferdinand Prunaru who took care of the corner kick. Ferdinand Prunaru made a great header on MMM's corner, it was just that Costa Rica's Benito Sanz managed to reach the ball for a save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Axel Tasis in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Miladin Radosov prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Bozhin Karailiev sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Abel Carballo hit a great freekick 25 minutes into the match. Eliseo Noboa's late challenge caught a MMM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eliseo Noboa helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Eliseo Noboa hit a great ball. Miladin Radosov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Puig in the 33rd minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as MMM's Bozhin Karailiev slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 1-1 after 38 minutes of play. MMM's Velko Borgovski got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 44th minute, Velko Borgovski got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Velko Borgovski to strike the kick off in the second half. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stoyne Karaushev, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lautaro Puig fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miladin Radosov having to interfere. 61 minutes into the match, MMM's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Noboa came free, but Miladin Radosov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to MMM getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Bozhin Karailiev hit a great ball. After a defensive mix-up in MMM's zone, Lautaro Puig stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Miladin Radosov came out of the goal and Lautaro Puig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to MMM getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Francesco Totti hit a great ball. If Bozhin Karailiev had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bozhin Karailiev received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Velko Borgovski came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 94th minute, Alan Moruga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Velko Borgovski blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save.
