With a little luck, AFC United's Pedro Torrens got control of the ball when Luis Andino tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 21st minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Torrens. AFC United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Pedro Torrens showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 41st minute, Cristian Sancho fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. AFC United's Pedro Torrens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 45th minute of play. Pedro Torrens was out of position in the 46 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Sancho really showed his touch with that goal: 5-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

Felix Montes lost his temper 55 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 55th minute of the game. One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AFC United:s goal. Cristian Sancho scored 6-1 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedro Torrens, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Pedro Torrens took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lalo Buenaga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the 85th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Pedro Torrens. AFC United's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 7-1. Eleder Borrellino's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eleder Borrellino helped the player get up and apologised. In the 92nd minute, one of AFC United:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for AFC United. Daniel Zorita shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. There was no doubt that Ecuador were the better team. Ecuador's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
