Luisito Quintan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 2nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Central's Giovani Lo Celso got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Daniel Zorita scored 0-1 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Salih Orus, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Salih Orus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 13th minute of the match. Giovani Lo Celso's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Giovani Lo Celso helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Central getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Giovani Lo Celso hit a great ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luisito Quintan got free with Julio Vera in the 18th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Salih Orus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. The supporters of Central booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Eugenio Vermudo. In the 24th match minute, Central was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Celso Santxol to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 25th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Salih Orus saved Central from getting behind. 33 minutes into the game, Central's Luisito Quintan nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. Central's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Eugenio Vermudo in the 45th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Luisito Quintan made a kick off. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luisito Quintan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 53 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Eugenio Vermudo who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Eugenio Vermudo got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Julio Vera quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Salih Orus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 57 minutes into the match, Central's goalkeeper Salih Orus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Salih Orus in the 64th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Salih Orus made a fantastic save in the 65th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. In the 67th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Central's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. 71 minutes into the match, Central's Giovani Lo Celso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 78 minutes into the match, Central's goal looked a bit too open when Agustín Saelices came free, but Salih Orus reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Salih Orus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Daniel Zorita hit a great ball. The Ecuador supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Ecuador would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
